On Friday April 3, 2020 we received a phone call from a real estate agent that had entered into a contingency agreement with us on the selling of our home. As many of you know Karen and I have been seeking the leading of the Holy Spirit as to our next steps after hearing over a year ago: “move on-move out,” and “launch out” directives that clearly showed us our time of ministry assignment in the Branson, MO area had been completed. In faith we had put our Branson residence up for sale and had traveled to Jacksonville, FL in March to connect up with a group of radical Christ followers and had surveyed the land for possible relocation. However we never felt a peace which is a good indication to stop, reflect, and wait upon the Holy Spirit for total confirmation. Agonizing days followed in a tug of war not knowing the perfect will of the Father. Then comes that dreaded phone call from real estate agent Steve Friday. After Karen finished her phone conversation we immediately went to prayer. I had sensed earlier that we were not to renew that contingency contract and following our bringing this before the Lord came to unity. In Karen’s return phone call it was discovered that the husband and wife buyers had also felt a leading to take their home off the market with their concern being also a definite change in the financial condition of this country due to the current Corona virus pandemic. Steve had fielded their concerns but yet encouraged them to push for a renewal which they reluctantly agreed to. So here we are again in a holding pattern with one door shut and another one to be opened and that to be determined at an unknown time. We may not know the future, but we know who holds the future in His most capable hands. And that truth we chose to rest and abide in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91). Pressing on….
It has been our dream home for over five years in the Branson, MO area. As you may or may not know for the past year we have been hearing over and over again in sundry and various ways “move on & move out”. Our daily prayers have petitioned the Holy Spirit to give us clarity on just what that looks like. It all came to a head this past weekend when only the second potential buyer came through for a 30 minute tour and then 30 minutes later a return call says the want to buy it for nearly asking price, something unheard of in today’s aggressive real estate market. Karen and I then went into a faith spiral to which we later had to repent of our not trusting our heavenly Father. When God does not make sense..we have to trust him in the process. Next steps…off to Florida shortly to house hunt and connect in person with Ty and Danielle (Untamed Truth You Tube Ministry) in the Jacksonville area who we came to know through a divine appointment on line. They are so much on our same page and have basically sent out a Pauline Macedonian call to us. So the journey continues. Prayers appreciate and needed! So PRAY ON!
Where Do We Go From Here Lord?
In pressing into our future for this coming year we received this right now Rhema Word from My Utmost For His Highest…
Will You Go Out Without Knowing? January 2, 2019
He went out, not knowing where he was going. —Hebrews 11:8
Have you ever “gone out” in this way? If so, there is no logical answer possible when anyone asks you what you are doing. One of the most difficult questions to answer in Christian work is, “What do you expect to do?” You don’t know what you are going to do. The only thing you know is that God knows what He is doing. Continually examine your attitude toward God to see if you are willing to “go out” in every area of your life, trusting in God entirely. It is this attitude that keeps you in constant wonder, because you don’t know what God is going to do next. Each morning as you wake, there is a new opportunity to “go out,” building your confidence in God. “…do not worry about your life…nor about the body…” (Luke 12:22). In other words, don’t worry about the things that concerned you before you did “go out.”
Have you been asking God what He is going to do? He will never tell you. God does not tell you what He is going to do— He reveals to you who He is. Do you believe in a miracle-working God, and will you “go out” in complete surrender to Him until you are not surprised one iota by anything He does?
Believe God is always the God you know Him to be when you are nearest to Him. Then think how unnecessary and disrespectful worry is! Let the attitude of your life be a continual willingness to “go out” in dependence upon God, and your life will have a sacred and inexpressible charm about it that is very satisfying to Jesus. You must learn to “go out” through your convictions, creeds, or experiences until you come to the point in your faith where there is nothing between yourself and God.
Lead us and guide us oh Mighty Holy Spirit for our next steps!
For the longest time Karen and I have been asking for clarity in our next season as to where we are to relocate geographically. Patiently enduring has not always been one of our gifts of the Spirit. Just when you have come to the end of yourselves Holy Spirit brings a fresh Word of direction. Such was the case the other day when Karen comes to me with tears in her eyes and says listen to this.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkxpRbFERss Yes it is a secular song by a secular artist but God’s ways are not always our ways. It confirmed visually St. Augustine, Florida (Florida’s Best Kept Secret), will literally be our next home. Wowser, God you are amazing when you speak to your children when they are willing to wait and listen for your leading. How often have we missed it by simply applying ungodly logic to what we perceive to be “God’s” plans.
It was one week ago that we in obedience put our dream home in Branson West, Missouri up for sale. In that week it seemed all hell broke loose. At times Karen and I were asking God what had we done. We felt all our horizontal and vertical relationships were in godly alignment along with always introspectively looking inward to sins of commission and omission and repenting of them. After all that review we knew that we are in the battle of our lives with the enemy of our souls who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. He may not know our future but he surely understands destiny. Having read several more chapters in the book by A.W. Tozer: “A Cloud By Day..A Fire By Night” finding and following God’s will for you, the overwhelming theme was trust God no matter what circumstances you find yourself in and do not use ungodly logic to figure it all out. God has a plan and it is one that is not to harm you but to give you a hope and a future. Today we are going to bank on that promise from Jeremiah 29:11 and press forward to wherever the Holy Spirit leads, guides, and directs no matter the cost. Yes their is a cost to following Jesus. We live for the eternal.
Over the past several months Karen and I have been hearing these and similar words so often that it became almost a laughable matter but in all seriousness this came as a direct result of asking Holy Spirit about our next season. We believe after over four years of living in Branson West, MO that our season of ministry effectiveness is over. So many prophetic factors have entered into this including songs, devotionals, God’s Word, relationship departures, severing of ministry alignments among others. Talk about closing doors we even had one of Karen and my favorite Springfield, MO eateries just recently shuttered their facility for no apparent reason: i.e. Jason’s Deli. Then our most favorite Branson Sunday choice, Longhorn Steakhouse had their managing partner leave due to physical issues. Matt was always so loving and kind to us along with several of the wait staff who we had come to know and love and minister to are no longer there. Black Oak Grill, we lost our favorite waiter Carson who for some reason up and left. Do you think that God is trying to tell us something? At our mature ages it certainly should not be a time of upheaval but when you sign on to follow Christ no matter what the cost i.e taking up the cross, daily dying, and following Him we really have no other choice but to Move On….Launch Out. Now the 10 million dollar question is where. With no firm stamp of approval by the Master we have laid before Him several geographical locations including St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and Bradenton, FL, Mesa, AZ, Hopkins, MI (Sandy Pines Campground.). Our desire is to spend the Spring and Summer in Michigan near our children and grand children, then winter in the warmer climates. In a step of obedience we are putting up our gorgeous dream home up for sale Saturday the 19th. God has so blessed us with this place but we never want to hold on to anything so tightly that it becomes a idol. Our prayers are that God would prepare the right buyer to continue the spiritual legacy we have begun in this neighborhood, an over the asking price bid, that actually people would be literally fighting over it, that this whole transition would be one of smooth sailing. If God did it once when we moved here before, He can and will do it again. The journey of faith continues….
